µTorrent (Windows):
Most of the features present in other BitTorrent clients are present in µTorrent, including bandwidth prioritization, scheduling, RSS auto-downloading and Mainline DHT (compatible with BitComet). Additionally, µTorrent supports the Protocol Encryption joint specification (compatible with Azureus 2.4.0.0 and above, BitComet 0.63 and above) and peer exchange.
Transmisson (Mac):
Transmission is a fast, easy, and open-source multi-platform BitTorrent client with a focus on being lightweight yet feature-filled.
Azureus (Linux):
(Actually, Azureus is cross platform, meaning it will work on Windows and Mac, but on those platforms it’s not nearly as lightweight as the alternatives listed above.) Azureus implements the BitTorrent protocol using java language and comes bundled with many invaluable features for both beginners and advanced users.
